A neurosurgeon... all they do is go in your brain and cut out tumor or vacuum up clogged vein that causing Stroke.

Then sometimes patients get paralysis or brain damage because of the risk.

And McDonald's burger flippers... they gotta deal with FLESH, dead cows and then cook them, and they sweat all day cause they are near the heated oven And they gotta hurry, cause the customers will get impatient and angry for waiting so long. That is HARD WORK.

And I still feel Neurosurgeon should get paid the same amount of money as someone at McDonald's flipping burgers.

So we need Socialism.

  1. come come little one.....

This is what I love (...k really hate) about socialists.  They act as if they can tax everything, take profits, and remove every incentive and motivation and nothing will change.

Your plan will work fine for about 10 years.  And then the neurosurgeons start retiring.  Others have left the country and now work in England, Canada, or Australia.  Neurosurgery programs have shut down because suddenly no one is interested in neurosurgery.

A cash based black market for neurosurgery develops, but insurance won't, of course, cover that.  Nor will they cover "off shore" operations.

After 10 years of a blissful socialistic reign, you've succeeded in ruining this profession, destroyed the jobs of those that work for neurosurgeons (nurses, secretaries, therapists), companies that produce drugs for neurosurgery have gone out of business, and the only way any of us can hire a neurosurgeon is if we're rich.

    Happy?

  2. somewhat of a stupid question next time go to McDonald's and have your operation

  3. yes Karl Marx, that sounds like a great idea! I mean, look how great the USSR is doing! O wait, thats right, its economy crumbled and no longer exists.

you need to think outside the box here. anyone can flip a freaken burger and work in the heat. it takes an extreme amount of schooling and use of the brain to be a neurosurgeon. stop thinking black and white, the world is grey and has many shades of it. there is a great amount of money and time spent to become a neurosurgeon and they deserve to be paid for it. there job isn't at all easy.

Also, if I was a neurosurgeon and I saw that an easy job like flipping burgers was making as much money as I was, I wouldn't want to do brain surgery but instead work at an easy job. there would be no incentive for me to work at a hard job. this is the same reason why communism doesn't work and I would leave the U.S. before a stupid Idea like Socialism came along.

  4. Socialism is bad and you don't value education. If you ask me I say teachers should make as much money as neurosurgeons.

  5. You're joking right? Neurosurgeons practically don't get out of school until they're 40 years old (Ok maybe 40 is an exaggeration, but its around there)! When they get out, they still have to pay their debts from tuition. By the time they're 50, they practically have a lifetime earnings of ZERO and most of them don't have families.

Here is a site you should check out. It's by Emergency Physicians, but keep in mind that neurosurgeons have it much worse.

In neurosurgery, one wrong cut and the patient could die. If the burger flipper dropped the burger, so what? Get a new one. Lives aren't replaceable. And the brain is an incredibly complex organ. Even neurosurgeons with their 15+ years of training plus extensive experience don't know everything about it. A neurosurgeon is also trained in basic medicine as well. Sometimes, that paralysis and brain damage is unavoidable. Everyone makes mistakes, but if you didn't know what you were doing, you'd make more mistakes. Have you ever tried doing surgery? It's not easy at all. There are more than a million things that could s***w up, and you have to be aware of them all. Would you want a burger flipper doing surgery on your brain? Most of them probably can't tell the difference between the hypothalamus and the pituitary. Pure socialism doesn't work. It gives no incentive for someone to become a neurosurgeon. People must be compensated accordingly. I'm not saying neurosurgeons should be paid a disproportionate amount of money, but I'm saying they deserve to be paid much more than a McDonald's burger flipper.

  6. You need a reality check! What do you do for a living? Flip burgers?

  7. But then we wouldn't have any neurosurgeons would we? Why would someone spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and waste 10+ years of having little to no pay if in the end they're going to make the same amount of money as some kid who applied for Micky D's straight out of high school? Why would anyone bother to go to college instead of being able to work for an extra 4+ years (not to mention that they'd save w/e amount of money they spend on college...)?

  8. You  have to remember that a surgeon is supposed to make a profit, just like the burger flipper.  But, the burger flipper doesn't have to pay for his own insurance, which is THOUSANDS less than the surgeon, pay off years of educational expenses and pay the salaries of support staff for his office (not hospital staff), business expenses (supplies, rent, licensing, etc).  While the burger flipper is an employee, with only personal expenses to worry about, a sugeon is really the CEO of a business and much of what you pay goes to the cost of running that business, not in his or her pocket.

  9. Tell that to Senator Kennedy!  Didn't he just have his brain tumor removed in a McDonald's near Duke University?????
