  1. I'm a vet and assume all have some kind of story to tell.  The vets that gave the ultimate (their life) are the ones that can tell you an honorable story of duty, honor and country. There are 58,000 names on the Vietnam memorial wall. 54,000 more than those in the Iraq and Afghan war. Then look into all the VA clinics at all the amputees. To give your life or a part of your body and soul to protect the country and way of life that you cherish is the ultimate gift. Just because a soldier, sailor, airman or marine doesn't get hurt or wounded doesn't mean the he/she shouldn't be honored also. If they served their country either dead, wounded, or still alive I SALUTE them all.

  2. A three - four page essay, pleeeeeeeeeeese give us a break!  What sort of bravo sierra are you trying to sell us here?  You're inability to use the spell check for your question indicates you're not capable of a three page essay never mind 300!

I'll help you out; it is "American Veterans" and they are entitled to be honored because they have purchased the rights and freedoms you so sadly waste with their blood, sweat, tears and lives.  You should be ashamed of yourself even to suggest you don't understand why they should be honored when it is upon their bones you thread.

  3. I would go back thru history and find out why they werenlt honored, and how MRS Fonda, henry Fonda's daughter protested the war, and how the movie stars got involved int he protest, the protest ROCK songs, the vets coming home to no protests with broken limbs, the flower children that did the protests, the age of the vets was 19, If I can remember right, half the vet's were high as a kite, ect.

One vet told me he use to carry around a belt with ears and noses else on from veitkongs he use to slice off of them. Don;t know if it was true or not, thats just what he told me.

  4. 300-400 pages? Do you mean words?  That would be very easy. The veterans fought for our rights and our country. Try and speak to some veterans like the other answerer stated or look up veterans.com.

  5. You really need to read about wars, battles and conflicts. Know why we were in them.

You might want to read about why we have a army and what their core purpose is and  what purposes they were used for.

What is honor? What makes a person a veteran (past and present)?

  6. I actually think a bumper sticker said it best:

If you are reading this, thank a teacher.

If you are reading it in english, thank a veteran.

  7. a 300 to 400 page essay?  Your not writting a essay, your writting a book. without our veterans, you would be writting it in german or japanese.

While we ignore their sufferings out there.

When they were out there .

In making this world a better place to live in time.

  9. I would start by visiting the veterans memorial wall, then follow that up by doing some volunteer work at a local veterans hospital where you can engage these veterans in conversation and hear their story's. Perhaps ask a national guard base commander if you may attend one of the send off's for troops being deployed when they bid farewell to their families and friends. Research the Normandy Military Cemetery. Thats just for openers.....

  10. They have you writing an essay even ASKING this question? I think I'm going to puke, our education system has definately gone to down.

  11. Because they have fought and died for this country, and your rights. Without Veterans there wouldnt be a United States.

  12. Oh I am sorry doesn't it seem obvious. The americans are always the ones out there saving everyone's ***. We are  so  stupid.

  13. Go to the VA. Speak to veterans.

  14. They are the men and women who fought for their country while we live our lives at home. They are the true heroes that exist among society. If it wasn't for them we'd be controlled instead of living our lives.
