Why should i buy another PSP battery if i have a pandora's battery? Is there an issue with the psp if i don't?

I want to hardmod my psp battery to make it a Pandora's battery, but all the guides that i see tell me to buy an extra PSP battery. I don't want to waste my hard earned money, and was wondering if it was absolutely necessary to buy an extra, or if it is just a precaution for if I broke the PSP battery. Thanks!

there are going to be issues with staying with a hardmodded battery. once you turned a regular batt to a pandoras batt, it cannot be used as a regular psp battery. you have to take another set of extra steps to turn it back into a regular psp battery. and even if you do get it to work as a regular battery again if wont fit right in the psp. when you hard mod a batt, you crack it open, mess with the chips, then tape it back shut. it doesn't fit right in the psp after all that. the psp battery cover doesn't even close completely. i dont like spending money either, but psp batteries aren't that expensive online. at walmart and any other store they're pretty expensive.
