  1. I thought the same way you did, but I tried the texas rig because for some reason the fish were not biting on my crankbait. I always hear of people talk of crankbaits and spinners, but honestly the worm works the best. A bass will try to get the worm in one bite and that's when u set the hook, but also you can fish in spots with a lot vegetation in the lake, pond, or etc and not get snagged on anything. Give it a try. It doesn't hurt to try and see how effective it is for you.

  2. You should Texas rig to prevent snags, grass, logs, stumps, rocks, etc., from hanging you up. Plus it will enhance the action of your lure. The hook set will be no different then a worm rigged with an exposed hook- on the hook set the hook goes through the worm and into the bass's mouth. No problem.

  3. The texas rig is designed to be weedless for the most part, it does not snag up as easily as an exposed hook. The bass gets hooked when it bites the worm. Tight lines!

  4. it doesn't get caught up or snagged constantly like a wacky rig...fish see less of the hook...the hook is in the perfect spot for the fish to bite and so u can set the hook...

But the main reason is so u don't get snaggs..if u miss the water u can srag it in without any worries

Oh and also..maybe more importantly it gives ur bait awesome presentation(especially in tubes and worms)

U'll be sceptacle about it's success and will try and ver away from it when u lose fish but keep it going

    Good luck

  5. A Texas rig is designed to be a nearly weedless presentation to a bass that like s to live in lillypads and yep you guessed it weeds.

The hook will rip through the soft plastic and hook the fish. an exposed hook will work better, but snags weeds.

in clear deep lakes an exposed hook...wacky style perhaps is a nice offering.
