It is not the congregation that get to me much but it's the leaders who rattle my cage. l had a preacher come to my house one day because l had stopped attending his classes after an incident that took place at his house. l was asked to paint a house and a garage for the church and it would take close to a week to do it. well l started on a friday and when the preacher asked me was l coming back tomorrow l told him no because it is the sabbath day and l do not work on the sabbath day if l don't have too. he tells me that the sabbath day is no longer in effect since Jesus died and when he died, so did the sabbath day. I told him that the sabbath day is a commandment and Jesus died for the penalty of sin. not the law or the commandments. well when wednesday service came around, he had brought up the incident that took place. he even read scripture dealing with the sabbath and then had people in the church agree that the sabbath day was no longer in effect. l don't believe in arguing in church and l told him that he was wrong for telling the church something that was not right. he came down to my house after l stopped going to his church and told me that he thought about shaking the dust off his feet with me because lm not teachable or willing to learn. l told him, l can't learn from a man who twist scripture around and then have the church go along with it when you are wrong. l have caught the preacher in numerous of lies and where he has just straight out twisted the bible around. the problem that l have with the church folks. how in the world can you attend church for over thirty years and still have the same problems concerning a sin you continue to do. for example. how in the world can a woman divorce all five of her husband and not catch on that God is against divorce. l guess if l was to go out here and kill five people, l guess l would still be considered safe and sane. l just don't get people who call themselves God fearing people and keep doing the same c**p over and over again. l believe God will lead me to the people he wants me to be in contact with me as far as ministering going. l know there are some preachers who do what God commands of them. l just wish l can find them. my book is not to judge the world nor the church but to let both groups know, it is better to read, study and trust in the word then to put your trust in people. l would never ask a person to never attend church because you can and will find a lot of spiritual growth there. l am a very observant person, been that way since l was born. when l look at things through these eyes, l see a big movie screen that l keep my eyes focus on. If you slip l will catch it and l will say something after it has happened a few times. l refuse to be in denial about the truth and l will never turn a blind eye to wrong, especially when it comes from people who know better.

  1. Try a different church or religion.  Everybody can't be nuts at the same time.  Your preacher sounds a bit childish.

  2. The priest at the church my cousin married in told her she couldn't walk down the isle to the "here comes the bride" song...it's his belief that the song was Hitler's favourite, and therefore, it was sinful to use

Funny how priests can turn things around to suit their own purposes!

  3. If I felt my preacher was not a man of God and was trying to twist Gods' laws I would definitely find another church that shared my beliefs.  I guess the main thing to remember is that not everyone attending church is right with God.  Some people are coming to learn about God.  My preacher, in my heart, I have to feel that he is serving God and preaching the true Gospel from the bible.

If I feel for one second his eyes are not on heaven and saving souls, he has lost my respect and trust.  Now with other Christian friends I would not be so judgmental, but with my preacher I need to know that he is a person I can look up, I know he will have sin we all do, but I need to know he is living his life to the fullest in Gospel.

    Just my take on things.

    Love in Christ,

    Michelle

  4. Many churches feel that the Sabbath is no longer necessary. However Jesus came to the Apostles on sunday to visit and teach but he did not say the sabbath was no longer a commandment. I have recently been taught many things about the sabbath. Look at the http://www.sabbathtruth.com/                It seems as as though maybe you should go to a truth that follows the true way of the Bible and the laws of God. Have you ever tried a messianic congregation? I recently started going and have never been so knowledgeable of God's word. I'm on fire for it and I love going to learn about the Word of God!

  5. Your attending church, should not make weaker in faith, but stronger and don't let ministers or even pastor get to you, satan can even work through them sometimes if they have given him place in their life.  For me I find answers when I in my room behind closed door duke it out between me and my Lord.  My answer comes to me in my heart its impossible to explain better to experience it and you know then its from God, and don't let others shake your faith.

  6. I dont know exactly what your criticizing your church for preaching worng but many insult the Catholics for praying to Saints in order to pass their prayer to Jesus. Saying we dont pray to Jesus when we do.

I often say I dont care what religion you are Luthern, Christian, etc. Isnt it a sin to be insulting someone for believing in the Lord or any of his Saints Amen.

I look around and am thankful and sure the Lord is to for any of those who show up to Mass to listen to the word of God.

If your insulting that I would consider it a sin.

  7. Can we get a condensed version of your question, please?  Read the Book, pray earnestly to God and find His answers for your life.

  8. This is my opinion...GOD is within yourself.  You have to wake up everyday with YOU.  You have to answer only to YOU.  You can have good morals without fearing some untouchable, unseeable God.  Make good decisions, be kind to your fellow man and remember YOU control your destiny.

If you feel the need to continue going to church, it seems like you need to find a new church.  Your present preacher is not for you.  There are plenty of other churches to go to that have less manipulative preachers.

    Good luck!

  9. just keep goin bud things will get better

  10. you are abolutely right through and through the divorce that thing you saud about the sabaath i know what you mean but remember that you go to church for God and not for tose people so even ask yourself why you should continue to go to church because you know why

  11. As a Christian, I can tell you that the 10 commandments are still that! Also, the Sabbath Day is reserved for worship and praise. It is the one day a week we can devote our lives to God. (If you were able to witness to someone while painting or it was an outreach event - great.., but it still could have been put on hold on Sunday.) I am proud of you for standing up for your beliefs. I feel you need to find another church. The Bible tells us " Forsake not the assembling of the Saints" - My family as well has had to leave a church that we were a large part of the staff, because of the congregation and jealousy of what God were accomplishing through us. I was a Youth Teacher and Church Secretary my husband is an Ordained Youth Minister and Deacon. There are people that will agree with the preacher.., no matter what he says or does and devour anyone who does not. All churches are not that way. We found a large church to attend.., everyone seems so happy to worship together and less gossipy. I will praying for God to guide you to a new church home.

  12. The bible tells us that there will be false teachings and false teachers.  Your "pastor" and I use that term very loosely is a false teacher.  It is not his to judge.  Let him go dust his feet anywhere he likes.  There is no condemnation in Christ.  Jesus welcomes all to his fold.  It is not man's too judge.  Forget that church.

God loves you and would not ever ask you to paint a garage.  The church was not ever meant to be a tool of control.  There is no power in the church other than God and you have been mislead.

Live by the Law of love my friend that Jesus gave us in Matthew and you will be much happier.  Never let a church control you.  Let Jesus be your guide.
