Why should minors be allowed to vote at an early age?

i dont think it should.  even 18 is very young for many people.  young people have the tendency to be very impressionable, if 15 year olds could vote, they would most likely just vote for whoever their mentor (or anyone they look up to) votes for without thinking twice about the real issues. also many younger people dont have a clear stance on things, they dont know what they think, they dont have a solid opinion on things, it can change like the winds. we all have this tendency and its not always a bad thing, but we need voters who know the issues, know WHY they believe what they believe and vote maturely,  there are already too many voters out there who dont have a clue about politics, allowing younger people to vote would just reflect the beliefs of people who impose their opinions on impressionable people without solid reason.

Minors still have no mature minds and knowledge to vote who are qualified.  There might just be child abuse of politicians if they are allowed.

My son doesn't pay rent.  He doesn't pay for food.  He doesn't pay for clothes.  He doesn't pay taxes (other than sales tax) and doesn't have the life experience to make informed decisions on where my tax money should go.  I will be glad to hear his input on political matters, but I don't want him voting just yet.

I'm all for raising the voting age back up to 21 or perhaps even older.  Most young people are too easily swayed by their peers, teachers, professors etc.....
