Why should one politician's infidelity affect another politician?

They will have to answer to god(if you believe in him) and his wife by himself. I find the republicans to be hypocrites over this matter, because all the parties has its cheaters. Republicans just seem to be smarter at hiding it. The ones who, usually, get caught are either g*y or child molesters. What McCain did to his first wife shouldn't affect a Republican and what Edwards did shouldn't affect Obama.

  1. ever hear "birds of a feather flock together" ??

  2. Is this a feeble attempt to justify Edwards infidelity and the effect it will have on all lying liberal lackeys? Is that what this is?

  3. uh...its what happens when you decide to pick and choose who has to stand up to the "character" benchmark, and who dosen't....it should be a guide for anyone who takes an oath to be 'loyal' to his country, like the president....some might ask "If he can't be loyal to one wife, how can we expect him to have the character to be loyal to a whole country?" Loayalty,is loyalty..no matter where or how you cut it.And it should go for all of them, or none of them......but, it usually dosent...that's what's called POLITICS!

  4. Although you do generalize about republicans...you are correct.  What other politicians do should not judge the entire political party and each one of its politicians.  But...recently it seems impossible to hold a conversation about a candidate's policies without bringing up some irrelevance about his personal life.  Now, with the Edwards scandal, "democrats" can insult McCain about his ex wife and take jabs at him about that situation.  All the while "republicans" can retort back with Edwards and twist it so somehow it is a negative to Obama and the entire party.  Quite absurd...

  5. Because people judge you by the company you keep. So let's look at John McCain and his company...He's surrounded himself with lobbyists on his campaign staff. His wife is a former prescription drug addict. He's now sided with former "agent of intolerance" (<Mccain's own words) Jerry Falwell. He was endorsed by both John Hagee who believes the Catholic Church conspired with Hitler to eliminate the Jews and he was endorsed by Rev. Rod Parsley who believes Islam is a "false, anti-Christ religion" and that it's America's purpose to see it destroyed. When you lay down with dogs, you're bound to catch fleas. McCain is proof of that.

  6. It shouldn't. When elected officials take the oath of office, they do not promise to be faithful to their spouses in fulfilling their duties.

  7. Well it shouldn't but it does so goodbye Obama. He lost the race not because of John Edwards but his racist mouth and his wifes.

  8. whats a little infidelity between friends.

  9. The reason why it does not affect Rep's is because no one really cares

I think they fear the Dem's so they need all the ammo they can get

they know they have been s******g up royally for years and that people are sick of them

so all they can do now is put out as much negativity as possible

everyone in the democratic party that somehow messes up will reflect on Obama for that very reason

  10. We're all hypocrites. I think the screaming of family values by Republicans screams just a little louder than the Democrats.

  11. Greasy Fat Old Bald republican men can't get none besides call girls, so they criticize everybody else
