  1. People pay Tax so that the King can build armies so as to protect the people from invaders. The Kingdom must also employ people to do things.

And of course, the Government of the day, instead of the King does all of those things and much more.

Roads, Hospitals, Law and order, Health in General, Defence, Well everything we have even down to Rubbish Collection.

I cannot say that I agree with the way the government does things but they are done and we all use them, so we all pay tax.

Even the peasants paid tax under the King. At least we have progressed a little.

  2. Tax is something that government relys on to build new things in the city/town. To improve the town. To share them around. E.g kiwisaver or those refugees that needs government's help. It's also your benefit. They fix roads up with this money. Accept some countries like Indonesia, the president just corrupts it to put in their own pockets.

  3. Tax is a source of income for the government and it is utilised for social benefits of the unpreviliges and also for development and security fo the nation. It is also means for reduction of inequality of incomes between different groups of people. The government taxes teh rich and utilises the same for the upliftment of the poor by providing social amenities.

In another way you can say you are paying for using social services like roads, bridges, rails, security services, police etc. provided by government

The funds are also utilised for security of the nation

Hence, its a moral duty of the citizen to pay the taxes of country which he resides in
