  1. Eh?  In case you didn't know all US cars are recycled into scrap metal. Scrap metal is the 2nd largest export of the US.   The plastics, cloth and other non-recyclables of a product which last at least 15 years is hardly a major threat to the environment.  So stop listening to your car companies slogans and stop looking for excuses to hate Americans.

  2. That means a lot of manual labour, something most Americans are shy of. If you broke the car down into its smaller components then it could take up a lot of time for someone who hates work. Time is what we don't have right now as we have to prepare for the future now. Crushing them and filling up landfill sites is a solution for the present - what we do with lazy Americans is send them off to Iraq.

  3. recycling any non-renewable resources we use makes sense on a finit planet. (after reducing our consumption, repairing and re-using)

the US and the rest of america do a lot of recycling at a local level.

It's just big corporate government & media are not keen.

GM recalled and crushed all it's EV1's, see www.whokilledtheelectriccar.com, despite the owners wanting to keep them; and the high value and demand for the components.

And the US have bought all the 207 suppy of, and report on, the Tesla, a 0-60 in 4 seconds 250 miles per charge made by Lotus UK; the UK environmentally insenstive media totally ignore it, as they ignored the Toyota RAV4ev etc. And electric vehicles are just more enjoyable to drive, quiet, smooth, smell free, refuel at home or work, £0 road tax etc.
