Why should the FDIC $10k insurance make me feel better?

Isn't the FDIC backing provided by the same govermnet that is 9.5 TRILLION dollars in debt? Why should I have confidence in them?

I'd put that money in a European bank that banks in euros while U still can.

I am old and i have $100,000 in the bank.  I feel much better that the bank can't just close its doors and tell me "sorry" like the banks did in 1931.

what $10k insurance??? It's $100,000 per account and the FDIC is funded by the banks, not the gov't
