I dont know about any other americans but me personally the rich and the super-rich and whoever wanted this war should have to pay for it instead of people who opposed it. Now it looks like the debt will have to be paid off through peoples children. grand-children, and great grand-children.

  1. Why should we pay for welfare we don't want?

Why should we pay for dishonest Congressmen and Senators?

Why should we pay for ethanol when it reduces fuel mileage, ruins cars and costs more to produce than it saves?

Why should we pay Obama's salary when he doesn't do his job?

Since the rich pay 90% of all tax dollars collected, they are paying.

  2. the poor have always been fodder in wars.  wars are always caused by the elite who hardly ever die in them.  Back in the middle ages, while the regular soldiers could get slaughtered by the thousands, knights and noblemen on the battle field were hardly ever killed, but rather were captured and ransomed back to their families or countries for money. It was a rule made up by the nobles to make sure their lives were saved.  Flash forward to today. Bush and cheney and the oil companies clear wanted to invade iraq badly for the oil....they got their way, but none of their children are fighting in it.  In fact you will be hard pressed to find a neocon that actually fought in a shooting war.

(EDIT) lol  so you neocons equate paying fair share of taxes to throwing away money..sorry ...borrowing money away to waste in perpetual warfare without end?  this really makes sense to you?  So you are saying that because there are public schools funded and social security and welfare and medicaid and roads and bridges funded etc..that this justifieis wasting money on perpetual war?  the answers given here by you neocons really show how warped your minds are. You really dont understand how welfare is necessary in our society or how food stamps are important? what would you do with the people that would be denied these programs? have them crawl on the streets diggin through garbage cans?  and why shouldnt the rich pay more in taxes?  it is the fair thing from a societal point of view...even Adam smith the father of capitalism agree that a progressive tax systems where the rich paid proportionately more taxes was the fairest tax system.

  3. Why are the poor complaining?  They don't pay jacksh*t to begin with.

  4. because they were retarded enough to vote in the fool that did it... and voted him in again when he was up for re-election...

check out the red states that Bush won... almost all very low income on average... a lot of middle-class and poor people voted for him...

    "he said he likes Jesus"

  5. Even if your complaint had any substance behind it, the "rich and the super-rich" pay the vast majority of federal income taxes anyway.

  6. Why should anyone have to pay for things they dislike???

I dislike having to give up my $$ to pay for food stamps  ,subsidized housing, free child care, school lunches or other services such as medical treatments, programs to support unwed moms, licensing fees, construction projects,..etc.

If I work to support my family then I expect everyone else  (except the infirm, disabled, elderly and youths -orphans or those in youth services) to work ,contribute to society  and not demand that I care for them/

Dislike of something does NOT justify a demand that the rich/super rich take care of "everything " including the preservation/defense of the nation.

You really don't understand that YOUR ability to dislike something, complain or challenge is allowed  because in this country..dissent is not a crime!

The USA was founded to prevent undue government oppression  such as being ruled by a dictator /hunta/etc that would /could have you punished/killed/incarcerated for any statement they chose to label anti-government, un-lawful etc.

...All Humans have free will which they use to decide whats "fair"

We all have dislikes, and different beliefs on many subjects BUT in the USA NO ONE is guaranteed anything except the opportunity to get an education & chose what to do with your life. There is no guarantee of success ,wealth or even happiness just the freedom to plan, try and seek a "life" that YOU desire.

Everyone pays for things they dont "Like" !!! Its called LIFE

  7. why should the rich pay for poor people they didn't create or want

  8. The only benefit George Bush's presidency may have unexpectedly given us, is that more Americans are really questioning the system & getting involved & united.

My generation burned draft cards, had sit-ins, protests, Make LOve Not War rallies, and some were shot dead on college campuses.

Now we have kids, and jobs, and mortgages.  We need the upcoming generation to help take our country back from the Establishment that allowed our nation to be destroyed from within by the wealthy and powerful.

My son is 16.  I am plenty mad that he and his kids will still be paying for Bush's grandiose failures while the Bush family vacations with their Saudi Arabian friends.

So I think we should march on Washington, and present the bill. And they should pay it or be thrown out of office.
