  1. I find out to day we are digging up resorces in 3rd world country just to build color t.v.`s. I guess that o.k. as long it is not in my back yard

  2. You can live your life however you choose.

Just don't be one of those eco-fascist who want others to live by their dogma.

  3. Same reason we are friendly towards our mothers .

Because our existence depends on the Environment.

  4. You should become eco-friendly since  a lot of the ideas will save you money.

  5. I'll tell you what I'll do: I'll become 'eco-friendly' when the Archbishop of Global Warming gets 'eco-friendly'.

I'll turn the air-conditioning to a higher temp, install CFTs and cut back on my electrical power usage just as soon as Al Gore moves out of his 10,000 square-foot, 20-room, energy guzzling, carbon-footprint-from-h**l mansion that consumes TWENTY TIMES as much energy as the average American home. And that's just one home - it doesn't include his 4,000 square-foot home in VA, or the second home in TN. (http://www.tennesseepolicy.org/main/arti...

I'll buy stock in companies researching 'green energy' when Al Gore gets rid of his stock in Occidental Petroleum. Gore's family's trust controls hundreds of thousands of dollars in Oxy stock. Oxy has been repeatedly taken to task over oil drilling in ecologically sensitive areas.

I'll get upset about industrial pollution just as soon as Al does. Al  receives $20,000 a year in royalties from Pasminco Zinc, which operates a zinc mine on his property near Carthage. Tennessee has cited the company for adding large quantities of barium, iron and zinc to the nearby Caney Fork River. Why doesn't Al shut 'em down? Cuz he's making money!http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/edi...

I'll conserve gasoline as soon as Al sells his power boat which consumes as much fuel per hour as four family cars. Every trip across the country in a private jet consumes enough fuel to power a Hummer for almost an entire year!

When Al starts practicing what he preaches, maybe I'll listen. In the meanwhile, I'll be responsible. I'm an outdoorsman. I love to backpack and camp, and I'm very careful not to damage the environment. We must be good stewards of the planet. But I will not lower my standard of living nor make ridiculous sacrifices for a cause that Al promotes (for $175 million per year!) but obviously does not believe in.

  6. You can make the change so your kids have a better future.

Just because we didn't get to see dinosaurs doesn't mean our kids don't deserve to see polar bears.

  7. yes, you will be dead before the earth turns into a barren, chemical wasteland. Do you want to be responsible for leaving your ancestors in that?

  8. ahhhhhh

"y shud i switch of lights when i will be dead by the time it makes a change 2 the wrld?!"

well now there is a question of concern driven by a lack of understanding.

Actually the truth is if you were to change your bulbs the impact would be immediate and over 5 years it would be even greater. However in particular by 2020 you wont be able to buy an incandescent bulb because they will not be able to make them or sell them.

how about this...last year a company that makes an alternative truck stop for truckers was able to prevent 100,000 metric tons of pollution from being pumped in to the air from idling  big rigs.  So the myopic view points that are sometimes presented are just that...short sighted and are often fed by  lack of understanding.

what are the benefits?   Cleaner air, cleaner water, healthier foods are some of them. Less manual power outages so supply can keep up with demand. How about saving you money in lower utility bills. these are just a few.

Keep your mind open...you're not dead yet...and you will make a big impact either way you go!

  9. You should become eco-friendly because global warming may have an efect on your future or your childrens future you have to care about the world and treat it with respect this is the only home we have and once it's gone we are gone so that's why you should become eco-friendly.

  10. Because once I'm in charge leaving the lights on will become an executable offense.

  11. Everybody should do their part in saving the planet. You can easily inspire people just by wearing a funny T-shirt with eco-friendly messeages. Check this website to see how:

    http://mygreencreations.com

  12. you have to think about the people who will suffer the consequences

sure you wont be you will be one of the many people who will destroy this world fast..

and think of the people from the future

    your great grandkids

  13. Do you wash your own dishes?  How about your shower?

I imagine that you do both of those, because you know that dirtying up your own home is going to cause unpleasant consequences to yourself.  The planet is just an extension of your own home. You live in it and it's possible to keep it clean and healthy (thus enjoyable and pleasant for you and others) or to make it dirty and unhealthy.

While your turning off a light won't make any difference, 200 million people turning off unnecessary lights can make a huge difference.  It would mean less power generation plants were needed, less pollution (if those generation plants aren't clean energy), better health and cleaner air to breath. Those are measurable benefits for a simple task (e.g. switching off light when leaving a room we won't be returning too soon) that doesn't inconvenience anyone.
