  1. We shouldn't.

  2. We should. Most of the time people lose concentration watching out for cops when they're speeding.

  3. we need to so mike can sleep 30 minutes longer before work in the morning

  4. NO.......................

As for why, just read the news, it seems that everyday someone is killed due to speed and if we remove the speed limits the deaths will increase because people will try to red line their vehicles every chance they get.

  5. We shouldn't.

The energy of a moving object is a function of its mass and its velocity squared.  I could do a lot of math for you and show you just how much the energy actually increases.  It is staggering.  If you double the velocity the energy increases four times.   That means the human body is more likely to sustain serious injuries with every added mile per hour.  Not only from the vehicle impacting something but from the human body impacting the restraint system or other solid item if the passenger is not restrained.  Personally I think the break over point is 60 MPH.  I wouldn't mind at all seeing a national speed limit stringently enforced at 60 MPH.

If you want a second reason it is aerodynamic drag.  Like energy, drag is a nonlinear progression.  A car will display more than twice the drag if the speed is doubled.  That consumes more fuel costing the drive more and reducing the supply for others.

If you are a lemming and actually believe man is causing global warming then add that to the stew.

  6. Speed limits are there for a reason. in some streets its 20mph/ 30mph in case some steps of the road, more time for the driver to react going at a slow speed than going 40mph+. You would be annoyed/upset/etc if family or friend was run over and killed if hit by a car going 40mph+ beacause of speed limits were dropped.

So NO. There's speed limits for a reason!!!
