Why should we put the environment first?

You might try narrowing the confines of your question.  For example, put the environment first over what?  Over human life?  Over political ambitions?  Over human advancement and technology?

I just googled "facts about the environment" and found a ton of sites.  You will fine ample information, regardless which side of the issue you take.

My personal comment is-(this may not help your debate)...you should put worship of the Creator of the environment-an amazing one-FIRST, people second, earth third.  

To assist with general debate argument...I would use the following:

1.  Reword the argument to say, "Why should protection of the environment be a priority for every person?"

2.  The delicate environmental balance that makes our planet uniquely habitable to man needs care and respect.  Go to the website pics to show the lovely aerial views of our planet.

3.  That environmental balance can be destroyed...(try the links below for some graphic examples and use pics if possible).

Think of the Earth as your house ... Do you want your house to fall apart from disrepair or do you take good care of your home ?  The environment is our home. We should keep it clean . Keep it a healthy place to live.

We should put the environment first because if we destroy any part of it puts most of the food chain off balance and then it effects most every living thing on Earth including us.
