  1. Because there elders?

    O_o

  2. - so that we in turn will be "respected (wont have to deal with rowdy youngins)" at an elderly age

    - to instill morale in kids so that when they grow in age they stay respectful

    - as a means of honouring the extensive time old people have spent living on this planet and dealing with the troubles that such and endeavor entails.

  3. This is one thing, I have always done. My mother raised me to always respect my elders. I was also raised in christian home that believed in respect.

    Here's you a few examples:

1)They are ahead of you – in age, in wisdom and maturity, in experience and education.

2)Our elders have done a lot for us, directly or indirectly and most of us owe everything to their kindness and love.

3)Elders have also been through all the phases you are going through and know a little more about the world than you do. However much you disagree with them, give them credit for their experience.

**All younger generations have always disagreed with their elders and it is these differences that bring changes in human society.

I hope this helped you out.

  4. 1)Because we will be elders one day and we would want the same thing.

    2) It's respect!

    3) Because our parents & school tell us to!

*One to grow on: Because if we don't it'll be very hard for us to get jobs and for people to like us!

  5. They worked hard so you could the things that you have, or had it harder than you did.

They have more wisdom and knowledge about life in general than younger people.

  6. 1) they might die soon and you want their last hour their best

    2) they have wisdom and experience so when you need help go to them

    3) they have attority over you

    4) they have credit cards and can drive haha

  7. These are just on top of my head.

    1. They know a lot of things better than the young.

    2.They were here first.

3.They are old enough to give birth to someone our age.(that depends)

    Good luck.

  8. Here are 3 reasons:

    1. Our elders already deserve our respect because they once took care of us.

    2. Sometimes (often) our elders can work as hard and perform as well as we can. Let’s respect them for that.

    3. Our elders have accumulated a lifetime of experience. Let’s respect and listen to them when they have something to say about the most important things.

Good Luck in your assignment!! :]

  9. 1. many of our elders have been through similar trials that we are going through in our daily lives.

    2. elders hold a wealth of historical information that can help us to understand where we came from and why things are the way they are in our world(insight, in a nutshell)

    3. respect maintains a peace for better communication. miscommunication and lack thereof, are what causes so much misunderstanding and missed opportunity to heed words of wisdom.

  10. 1. they've paved the way

    2. they've raised others

    3. we honor their experience

  11. Because we're gonna be the elders someday and passing all the things that we will have to, we're going to want respect too!

  12. 1. There older and unable to move and communicate as well as us

    2. There wiser

    3. They spent thier lives caring for other people so time to pay them back

    x

  13. 1. >They usually have more life experience than us

(and they remember what it was like to be our age, and have gone through the same or similar experiences)

    2. >We can always learn something from them,

(even if it's just about history that occurred before we were born)

    3.

can't think of a third right now

  14. It's just something they say to keep kids under control. I respect everybody not because I was told to.

  15. Well, besides the most obvious reason, which is the fact that you yourself will be old someday, there's the fact that they have lived longer and done more than you have, or perhaps the fact that they are just old, and most cultures believe that respecting your elders is good karma, and just the friggin' right thing to do.

  16. How about reasons not to?

Why respect a generation that have done its best to destroy the environment? That is doing its best to destroy the US now with its deficit spending? That 'borrowed' $10 TRILLION from the unborn and people too young to vote against it?  That will vote for anyone as long as they get to keep the Social Security coming, even though they've already collected 10-20 times what they paid in? That will vote to keep its prescription drug coverage, even though it's doubled the price the rest of us pay for medications?  That lied to you about God, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny, but scolded you for telling lies?

The real generation worthy of respect is the one that will have to pay for the excesses of the past, money wasted on people who will all be in the safety of the grave and thus beyond punishment.

  17. For one thing, they have been smart enough to make it to a ripe old age.

They're already walked the road, and can tell you where a lot of the potholes are (if you have enough sense to listen).

They won't be with us indefinitely, so you gotta enjoy them while you've got them.

  18. 1. Its the first commandment in the bible with a promise of a long life

    2. The bible also teaches us we recieve what we give, or you reap what you sow.

    3. Being a Parent is not easy and when you make a mistake it feels real good to be shown forgiveness and honor.

Ill let you find the scripture in the bible yourself I promise its there.

  19. I respect them because they are Humans and not because they are old.

Thats just a silly thing parents say so they don't get in trouble for there kids potty mouth.

  20. 1. They have wisdom that young people don't have.

    2. In respecting them, we respect their life lived.

    3. The Bible tells us to.

  21. This doesn't say much for you as a person if you can't think up 3 reasons on your own.

The others will give you reasons aplenty why one should respect their elders. You should look into your heart, though, and find a reason which is personal to you and include that amongst them.

  22. 1. They have lived before us, and so, set the foundations for our way of life as we know it today. (i.e. veterans of the wars, the Founding Fathers...)

    2. They have become wise and more understanding and knowledgeable throughout the years of their existence and we ought to trust their judgment before our own.

    3. They once cared for us and now we can show our love, respect, and gratitude by caring for them in their time of need.

...that may not be what you wanted, so, as some alternatives:

    3. By respecting those who have gone before you, you teach those that come after you the importance and impact of our history.

    4. We are here as a result of their invitation. With abortion statistics today, just be thankful you received one such invitation.

  23. Three reasons we should respect our elders:

    1) They have more life experience and therefore have the gift of wisdom.

    2) We want to condone respect and the only way for people to respect us is to respect them.

    3) Our elders have so much to offer us, it is through their good counsel and guidance that we can learn to have a better life now so we can reflect on our life with peace of mind.

Good luck on your essay.  It sounds like fun!

  24. Because its the right thing to do.All you have to do is treat others like you would like to be treated. Believe in God.

  25. 1) They have lived longer and have seen more than we give them credit for.

    2) They are usually looking out for our best interests

    3) As a sign of respect for the knowledge that they have and hopefully will share with us.

  26. 1) They're human too!

    2) We wouldn't exist if it wasn't for our elderly relatives.

    3) Our kind human nature and setting the good example of respecting our elders are something our children and grandchildren can learn to imitate. Hopefully with us!

  27. 1 Because if they are your parents, they brought you into this world, they deserve some respect, don't they?

#2 When your kids they help you through everything, and sometimes even when your older

#3 They love and care about you

  28. Elders have the benefit of experience. If they like you, they can save you grief and worry by sharing their experiences. Also, because you yourself are going to be an 'elder' one day, your good example will inspire those younger than you to respect you when you get old.

  29. It's one of their rules, like " Children should be seen and not heard." Everyone should be respected.........elders children and everyone in between.

  30. I'll give you 4, there's a lot more.

1- they know a lot more than you

2- they sacrificed their whole life to raise you.

3- they  can save you a lot of trouble by relaying valuable information    having already gone through things your going through now

4- if you love them , you are going to be sad when they are gone.

  31. They are more likely to "Tell you How.?

They are more likely to have more experience and Patience .

They are more than Likely to have earned your trust in life's situations.

    Love for you.
