  1. if you vote for a good party/person, your future will be better than if you vote for a corrupt party/person. so, when you vote, it means that you are leaving your future or your countries future to him/it.

  2. As a citizen in a participatory democracy it is your civic duty to vote. If you don't get involved in electing candidates to represent you, then have no right to complain about any decisions that the government makes which affect you.

  3. we should vote to make the government think we are still fooled.

  4. To feel like you're really making a difference in hopes that the electoral college of your state will agree with you because that's the only way it will.

  5. I assume you are talking about America.  You have a constitutional right to vote.  You should arm yourself with knowledge and then vote your conscience!  If you don't, you have no reason to complain about the way things are in America.

  6. Most people know that voting matters only in the sense and in a similar way that a butterflies wing flap in the Amazon contributes to world weather patterns. The ones who do vote know deep down that no matter who gets elected NOTHING can change much because the system that has been painstakingly built by the Republican and Democratic parties would collapse. On the other hand, by voting they know they can effect the 'trend', they can shift the focus of debate and ultimately effect the inevitable action that is taken. This is as it should be because democracy is a necessarily degenerate form of government that inevitably reduces itself to the lowest common denominator.

  7. It's our civic duty, it's what separates this country from all the other countries in the world.

It's the only way we have a say in the way this country is run.

  8. Voting is like a ticket to use the great American soap box, to stand up and tell all who are listening what you think should be done to make this America a more perfect union.  If you don't vote, it is silly to try to get up on a soap box and tell others what you think because, if you aren't serious enough to vote, your views, what you think will be equally shallow and insubstantial.

  9. We vote because it's the way our country holds it's leader's responsible for their actions, because it's our right. There are votes about just about everything especially in local elections. Sometimes local elections can come down to single votes making the difference so it really does matter.

You may not see it much now as a college student but once you enter the workforce and have bills and such you'll see.
