Its natural. We are omnivores. Don't toy with nature. I want to tell my friend that it should be a lifestyle choice. My friend wants to protest it and calls people who eat meat cold hearted. My friend also says tofu is sufficient enough to replace meat. Help me convince my friend that it has its pros too. Its not all bad.

  1. any food can be argued good or horrible for you...

you could point out all the things theorized to be wrong with soy...

some research shows it has compounds that mimic estrogen and cause developmental problems:

depending on how much you work out and age protein requirements are really different and some argue that fake meat and protein supplements is expensive. Just like with meat there is some stuff that's bad for you, and some that's not that bad.

but vegetarianism cuts down on the amount of actual energy needed to sustain you so it is more efficient as far as recent food shortages go.

  2. I was basically about to say everything Jaquelin just said.  In order to supplement the necessary nutrients to survive which are found in meat already, you need to consume a lot of lentils, bean, and whatever else vegetarians and vegans eat in order to match the proteins and enzymes, macro and micro nutrients already found in meat alone!!

  3. In the end i don't have a problem with vegetarians. Although it does kind of bother me when they try to convert me or something. I'm all for the environment just in a different way.

I don't see why someone should be against it. Lots of people say its bad for your health but in truth its not, you just get your nourishment from somewhere else.

    PS-

    ON THE OTHER SIDE!

its not bad to be a meat eater, me?

i don't gouge myself with meat but i did cut down.

also tofu is terrible. But not being a vegetarian isn't. Eating meat is natural in some ways, but eating like a vegetarian is in some ways too, its not bad. But its not terrific either!

PSS-tofu isnt a very good substitute, you can still get rapid weight lost and it is a danger to your health.

FACT-you need certain meats in your system for your body to function properly, like your brain!

  4. well it is curious that i can see a cow in a field or a chicken or something and i dont get an urge to kill and eat them like a true predator. seeng animals doesnt make me hungry ever.. so am i really even an 'omnivore'? if im starving to death, and in a field with an apple tree and a cow, would i kill the cow and eat it up first before depleting the apples?

im not sure how natural it is anyways since we just buy these shriunkwrapped packages in the stores all our lives. now that has nothing to do with nature.

  5. Nothing replaces meat.

Beef for example is necessary for proper brain function.

Meat, especially beef, helps to keep the blood pressure from falling below normal - thus preventing dizzy spells or fainting spells.

Meat protein is needed for muscle formation.

The omega which is said to be missing from most of our diet is found in meat.

Meat supplies us with iron.  It is safer to eat red meat as a source of iron than to take a iron supplement.  Iron supplements are toxic.

  6. The only problem i have with vegetarians is when they try and ram it down my throat. Ok, it is their choice, but you are right, we are designed to eat meat. BUT it is my choice to eat meat, and i would never try to tell someone who chooses not to, to eat it. It works both ways.

  7. because we have the perfect teeth to eat on some meat and it was ment to be. plus it's good for you and there are a ton of varieties. and my fav. if everyone was a vegetarian we would be over run with animals and would constantly hit them with our cars and meat tastes so good
