  1. The majority of earthquake deaths in the USA are people killed by debris falling off the side of buildings: brick facades, windows, etc. Because of our strict building codes, especially in quake prone areas, very very few buildings collapse in USA quakes. So if you are inside a building, stay there until the quake stops. If outside, get as far away from any buildings/structures as fast as you can!

This advice only applies in the USA, Japan, and other nations with modern buildings and strict codes. In other parts of the world many buildings will collapse, and you might well better off making  a dash for the outdoors.

  2. the ground could split or electrical lines could fall.

  3. because you can get killed

  4. Things could fall on your head.

  5. Earthquakes never kill people, its the buildings that fall on them that do, so outside away from buildings is the safest place to be.

  6. Debris from buildings could fall on you.In big qualkes buildings can collapse completly.

  7. thats like asking

why shouldnt you jump in a fire?

  8. Because of all the liberals wandering around, looking up at the sky, crying about "Why did the government allow this to happen."

It's easy to get trampled by these idiots.
