Why shouldnt drag racing count as a sport????

i didn't know it wasn't considered a sport .. it's a motorsport just like nascar or midgets or indy cars .. or at least i thought so anyways ... i love to watch nhra drags .. the small local drag strips are fun also!

Am I being stupid, I though it was, well in the UK it is classed as a sport anyhow.
