Question:

Why so many bathrooms?

I am looking at a $29.5 million home right next on the beach. I took a virtual tour and read some details on it. It had 7 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Why would a house have 10 bathrooms? I would much rather have 13 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. How does the bedroom/bathroom ratio affect the price of the house?

  1. well, they could have a bathroom in every bedroom. then added 3 extra ones for visitors or something. in that house, it seems like a lot of people r going to be living in it. so i think it's good to have a lot of bathrooms. if ur house only had 4 bathrooms, there would be too many people crowding and waiting, and it would probably be stinking too. if u have a small family, i suggest a smaller hosue?

  2. It seems to me, for someone looking at such a pricey abode, you could have some of the bathrooms converted to bedrooms. In fact, it shouldn't even be a concern for you.  What's another million or so to convert...a small hiccup.

    Good luck, Mr. Trump

  3. Maybe they have a lot of parties? That is weird.

  4. A couple by the pool, one for the bowling alley, one for the gym - they add up fast (I'm only sorta joking - this could be the actual reason ie bathrooms attached to other "stuff" like pools and gyms).

  5. It could be that they used the bedrooms for more than one person in each room. Like, maybe they did foster care, and put 3 people, in every room. So, 3 times 6 bedrooms, is 18. with that many people, you need that many bathrooms.

  6. My friends built a 12,000 sq ft house with 12 bedrooms and 12 baths.  You can not build enuf bathrooms nowadays. Of course, you are correct .... no one needs more than 3 or 4.  But you only live once.
