that is a fallacy primarily and a situational wish secondarily.  before any person truly begins to love & respect themselves they all go through wishing that they could be different than they are but not necessarily or specifically another race.  they just want to be different.  additionally a specific incident might spark that thought temporarily.  I wish my husband didn't look arab at the airport.  i wish i had white people hair when i have to sit at the salon 36 hours for microbraids!  otherwise, i am good.

There is a difference between "wishing to be white" and "acting white". There are so many black people who are accused of "acting white" because they are intellectual and don't like rap, RnB or hip hop. I hate the whole "acting white/acting black" thing. Ones skin colour should not dictate what music we should listen to, what clothes we should wear or how intellectual we should be. If a black girl wants to be a goth people say that she is "acting white" but if a white guy wants to be a rapper people think it is totally fine. It isn't said that often that he is "acting black" . All should have the freedom to do whatever they want to.
