Why so many golf courses? ?

i know people like to play golf, but why so many? i mean if you look on google earth, Las Vegas has over 30!

Vegas has more than that.  Places that are tourists attractions/resort areas, have a lot of golf courses.  Most people don't take time off from work to play soccer.  It's a relaxing sport.  Check out the Myrtle Beach area.

Why are there so many houses, places to work, cars, etc. Because there are so many people who live in a certain section of the world, if you try to fit all those people onto just one golf course, well it wouldn't happen. If there are heaps of golf courses around one local area then it spreads everyone out. Well that's what I think anyway.

Golf courses are just like any other business, If there is enough demand to support more of that type of business, then more of them will appear.

Its the same reason big cities can have thousands of gas stations while small towns might have only one, or the same reason Starbucks has locations less than a block apart in some areas.

If there are enough people who golf in Vegas to fill 30 courses everyday, then there aren't too many courses. If courses start going out of business because they can't get enough customers, then there are too many.

Golf is a slow game, and the players need to spread themselves wide apart to avoid hitting each other with the ball. You won't get more than 200 playing on a typical course each day. So it may be a huge area but probably services fewer people daily than a bowling alley.How many bowling alleys are there in Vegas?

Usually the places tourist go to tend to have more courses. It's just cuz like you said...a lot of people like to golf and like to play courses from all over the country and world. It brings tourists into that part of town. It's just an attraction thing. It's hard to explain really if you don't like golf or play it.
