Why so much security?

I live within 15 minutes of the RNC and I won't even be able to look at the Xcel Energy Center because of the restricted area. Half of St. Paul is being shut down for this. People aren't being able to work for a week. I understand having security, and such, but to this extent....it seems very extreme.

  1. the republicans are paranoid

  2. The Republican mantra..."terrorist, terrorist, terrorist" has bred overwhelming paranoia....

  3. Sometime in the '80s (I forgot exactly what year), and i believe it was in Denver, there was a MASSIVE riot during the RNC. I'm pretty sure they don;t want something like that happening again.

  4. Well, look who's going to be at the RNC. You have President Bush and V.P. Cheney, both of whom are subjected to hate in this country. I wouldn't put it by some lunatic to try to plot something against these two. Then you have John McCain and Sarah Palin there as well as other high profile politicians.
