  1. we cook it, prepare it with such passion, and make it really appetizing.

chinese drink it fresh, warm and raw. even snakes blood.

pity, you wouldn't experience the taste of dinuguan, just because your church pastor tell you not too.

can somebody tell me which is more dirty? the catsup you dip your fries to, or blood?

  2. Nope because the blood is pig's blood and not human blood.. Theoretically, we can consume anything except for endangered animals and human beings.. That includes any part of the animals we usually eat like the pig..

  3. I don't eat "dinuguan".  It's unhealthy; the intestines or innards of the pig causes an increase in uric acid in the body and could aggravate (even cause) gout or arthritis and kidney dysfunction.  Besides, it's dirty.

My abhorrence has nothing to do with religion.  Just my opinion and some medical facts.

  4. thatz not blood of ppl. wat you talking about? filipinos are not gross ppl.

  5. Because it is part of the culture. Remember that food sources were scarce before in the Philippines (well, it as still now) and people had to use all parts of the animal that they find edible in order to survive.

Because of this we now have dinuguan (beef blood soup), bulalo (bone marrow soup), sisig (pig's pinna), bopis (fried trachea and lungs), and even the street foods such as IUD (chicken intestines), Adidas (chicken feet), Walkman (pig's ears), and isaw (pig or chicken intestines).

Also, lots of other cultures make their own version of food from blood. Example is England's blood pudding, a sausage made with pig blood.

Now, for the Dracula reference, Dracula (Romanian Prince Vlad III the Impaler) did not actually drink the blood of people - rather he loved to pierce his enemies with his spear.

  6. it's delicious...

  7. blood of animals are edible but not recommended for health reasons, it is too "heating" for the body that may lead to cancers or other ailments. In survival conditions, take only small amount at a time together with the other food sources.

not all filipinos consume blood...muslims, iglesia ni kristo, seventh day adventist christians, vegetarians, saksi ni jehovah christians, some taoist or buddist sect, and others among them.

  8. Because dinugan and batchoy are both oh-so-good!

You an Iglesia ni Cristo worshipper or something?

  9. i eat blood [dinuguan]

and that doesnt mean i'm a dracula..

    if i was, then my lovestory would be like from twilight.. [;

  10. The English and Americans make blood pudding.  Vlad Dracul never ate blood.  He was called Vlad the impaler because of his tendency to impale his enemies on poles along the roads.

    Get your facts straight

  11. ha ha ha  you made me laugh.

  12. same here.

    though i'm a filipino,

i never thought of eating blood / dinuguan.

    obviously, blood is dirty.

needless to say, it came from a pig!

i don't know what got into them.

  13. don't hate.

as they said, it's not what you eat, it's what comes out of your mouth that defiles you.. lol..

hmmmm.. we used to call it betamax, grilled coagulated blood... lol

  14. Here is a partial list of cultures who use blood in their diet:

    Filipinos

    Chinese

    Italians

    South Americans

Different cultures use blood in different forms - the Chinese and Italians, for example, use the solidified form.

  15. ... for some its just part of the cult and stupid belief that it will enhance their sexual prowess..

..but in other part of the Philippine island it is an exotic dish cooked along with the animals offal, most particularly from goat or pig.

If the Filipinos are scions of Dracula, then they must be of the highest breed ....being able to walk in the daylight.. !!
