  1. It's not the temperature that defines a desert but the lack of moisture.


  2. Vancouver isn't cold and it's not a desert. A desert is defined by the amount of precipitation it gets, not it's temperature.

  3. It's the amount of rainfall, or should I say, the lack of rainfall.  San Diego, California is concidered desert, but it's lush with green and very much alive.

  4. Vancouver is in a rain belt, hardly desert conditions. If you move up into the interior of BC however you will find areas that exhibit desert appearances.

  5. Vancouver is not a desert ! It's rained almost the entire month of November, and today we're getting a huge dump of snow !
