  1. There are so many varieities of color for hollyhocks.  There will be slight variations of colors between flowers of different seeds...it's all genetics.  Just like there are variations between siblings.

The only time you should worry about diseases is if the coloring is sudden and spreading.

  2. Why?

    I have Hollyhocks. : )

They are doing this cause it is their way. It is the kind of Hollyhocks you have. Not all will do this. Hollyhocks attract Hummingbirds, and for this nature they give color for attraction. Nothing is wrong with them, I hope you don't think it is? I am a Mom of 2 grown children, I am age 48 soon to be 49. I worked in Flowers all my life. hope this helps explain to your satisfaction? GBU. Have a nice weekend.

They are one of my favorite flowers too. I am from Holland (My family heritage is). these flowers originate there.

Don't worry, there is no desease in/on them. I hope you have them planted in an area BY THEMSELVES though. They are stingy that way. : ) Seriously.

  3. hi. those are nice blossoms. it might be genetics. I try to plant only the plant types that Thomas Jefferson grew. most people call my "wildflowers" weeds.
