  1. NOOO nothing is wrong like u need to train ur lungs like i go to swim practice and we do this one set that is calld the lung  buster we do a 100  x3 X2 free [75 then then the last length underwater and evey time u do one u r 75 gets faster, like the first one is 75% effort then 85% effort then the last 100 of that set is 100% effort and that is also sprinting it !!! ] then u do that set 2 times ? do u get what im saying, if u dont comp. swim then u will have no idea what im talking about.

  2. Some of it is lung capacity, some people are more efficient in their swimming technique, which means they use less oxygen, some of it is general conditioning (the same reason why some people gasp for air after going up a flight of stairs and others are fine), and others still are used to the feeling, and have a better feel for the gap between when your body sends the urge to breathe, and when you actually HAVE to take that breath.

More swimming, starting with controlled breathing (don't swim crawl with your head above the water, and then don't breath every stroke cycle, or bi-lateral breathe on every cycle and a half, or more) is a good start.  Gradually practice swimming under water for short distances, then increase, and get used to taking less and less time in between, as you acclimate to the swimming.

    In a word, practice.

  3. no, you just need to train your lungs and your diaphragm for it. just practice holding your breath under water or even while you are watching tv.

  4. different people have different lung capacity. you must have a short span. its totally normal.. if you want to get a better lung capacity you have to try to spin like one side of the pool to say... the middle without taking a breathe.. i was the same but i do this

at swim practice just try going longer and longer without breathing.. you'll feel like your going to explode but push it out,
