Since I was there to worked for five years several years ago, I’ll never intend to go back that place, for me living that place it’s a misery.

  1. there's usually more opportunities in metro manila. more businesses, mean more jobs. although more jobs doesn't necessarily mean that it is readily available because competition is also greater. but majority of the people will still take the chance. anything to earn money to support yourself, your needs and hopefully, your wants.

  2. because most of the people from the provinces think that in metro manila there are lots of opportunities to grow..but sadly some people end up being squatters here and but some really have growth in career and even love life...

  3. for they thought the place could give them job.

  4. lack of decent work(as if manila could offer any better), peace and order, appeal of the big lights,...

  5. they think living in the city is better.

  6. Oh, people from the provinces thought that life in Metro Manila is nice and easy.

  7. Manila sucks. I don't want to live there.

  8. some people from the provinces think that going to manila is equivalent to going abroad.

  9. The main purpose of going to manila is have work, nothing in provinces except farming, and thats a hard job. And manila is paying more than the provinces.  Its true manila is h**l, but what you can do if that is their source of income.

  10. Manila... the Big City! Where all the rich people live. When CARP gives you your land, you sell it so you can go to the golden city and get rich too.

That's the reason for so many squatters.

  11. They think that they have better chances in making it big at the big city.

  12. i don't know with them. traffic, noise, crowded streets! i'm not really amused living in manila.

  13. Hi Datu..

Well, its quite obvious that if you want a good paying job, Manila is the answer for you... I grew up in Baguio and never did I dream of moving to Manila, but when I had to, I never regret the years I spent there. its just a matter of perspective, and of course as to what you are doing there, why you are there and where in Manila you stayed!

  14. .....it's like the moth getting lured by the lights!

  15. My mother is from a very rural part of the Philippines, Palawan (sometimes it feel so rural, it doesn't feel right to have some form of modern technology with you, haha). She moved to Manila to study when she was sixteen and has since never lived in Palawan. My mum says she just like the city better because there were so many things to do.

I'm 14 and I've grown up in New Zealand and in my opinion, I prefer Palawan to New Zealand.

I love how very rural it is, how secluded it feels. In New Zealand, life is very busy. I have so many after school activities to attend, projects to finish and friends to catch up with. Whereas when I was in Palawan, life was slow, but sweet. I was only there for five days but it felt like a lifetime.

I guess my mum had had enough of the provincial life and I have had enough of my busy, suburbian kid lifestyle.

Each to his own, I guess.

  16. most of job opportunities are in manila so more people want to live there

  17. common reason is economics.
