  1. there might be a curse from the ancestors or wrong decisions in life.try to detect the source of negative energies!

  2. You ought to get some interesting replies to this.  All I can offer is my personal opinion.

At one time I believed we all have roughly equal luck, but that some of us take the 'if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all' approach, while others just ride along accepting the good with the bad.

I no longer believe that's true.

Frankly, I think part of it, maybe a lot of it, is a matter of metaphysical energy.  [Laugh if it suits you]

I believe people who worry a lot about what 'might happen' drag negative situations, frequently unrelated to what they worry about, into their lives.

I believe people who are able to relax and be grateful for whatever comes in their lives probably experience a lot less 'bad luck' than those who think negatively.

But when you see a poster showing a pot-bellied kid in Africa with flies walking around all over his eyes in the last grips of malnutrition, that's a whole different ball game and I have no idea why it happens.

I'll be interested in seeing what others have to say about this issue.  Ought to be a wide range of viewpoints.

  3. it is their bad luck i don't believe in this but maybe they:

-brooked a mirror(7 years of bad luck)

-their way was crossed by a black cat

    -etc.

  4. some say it's karma. i believe it too. it means that you have done something negative or hurt or injure innocent beings sometime in the past, then after some time the negative energy returns and strikes back at you just as if to balance things out.

  5. Okay, see if you can follow this. Your past is your future. So anything that you take from the past and put it into your future will become your future, You can change your story and how you look at it, therefore making a more positive future for your self. Where your mind goes you will follow. You can also help this by thinking positively in your future, say what you want, but choose your verbage carefully.  People who have seemingly bad luck are just writing negative thoughts in to their future, In the book "The Secret" people thought that they were being positive by saying "I will get myself out of debt" but the word debt still remained in the sentence, thereby still carrying the negativity foreward. I want to wish you good luck. Just by asking you are well on your way, If you are already thinking along these lines.  We are the captains of our own fate.

  6. you'll see what you expect to see.I personally see only good things happening to me. Perhaps to another eye it is a bad thing but to me it is the universe working for me and for my desires and aspirations, it is a little movement of an obstacle that may bring with it a little discomfort at the time, but in the broader picture could not be avoided, to bring to me a much larger goal, kind of like getting wet in the sudden downpour whilst on your way to collect your winnings from last nights lottery draw.I just love the way karma works.

  7. There are those who explain "luck" through their karma, as in "I really must've done something good in a past life to get that raise!".  I can't deny that I have some faith in Karma, and, if you've ever watched "My Name is Earl", you know that Karma can hit you where and when you least expect it.

On the other hand, there are some current behaviours that can have an effect on whether you have good or back experiences (or luck).

Many people who are lucky just always seem to have things come to them at the right time.  Let's look at that another way: people who are lucky are ready for good opportunities when they present themselves.  In other words, maybe it's preparation that sets the lucky people apart from the unlucky.  For example, if a person were to go out and buy a generator and a chainsaw in September, and then, in February a tree fell and knocked out their power, they would feel lucky that they had a generator and chainsaw handy.

Somebody who is unlucky always seems to have things happen to them at the wrong time.  Like, "my car broke down right before the trip I was planning!"  A lucky person may have had the car worked on a couple of weeks before the trip, but the unlucky person wasn't prepared, and had to suffer the consequences.

So, how do you get rid of bad luck short of some sort of voodoo ceremony?  Try paying attention to the things that are going on around you.  If you notice something needs to be repaired or maintained, even a relationship or your mood, rather than putting it off, do something about it.  It might not make all of your luck good, but you may end up feeling more confident and good things might start happenning.  Good luck!

  8. Hate to say..I don't feel the same as 333. I've tried both ways.  And it always seems that when I "expect" good and have good positive thoughts and work towards good...I'm just left with a feeling of shock when it goes bad. Have you ever thought about when you're riding in a car..that you might have a wreck...but you say no ..that won't happen. ..I have my St. Christopher medal on my sun visor. Then WHAMMO..you have a wreck..and you're all confused  and full of doubt..because you were so sure you were protected. I thought God was guiding me. I had so much "proof" and confirmations of things..then WHAMMO...and  my body is still in the shock position!! It's been years and I still can't understand what happened. So I think it's better to not necessarily expect  good things...just maybe "hope" for them.

PS...Please no comments from the section that says St. Christopher medals are against the Bible. Thanks.

That was just an "example"..trying to explain what I meant. It's not to be taken literally.

Edit..I went with a man who thought I would marry him...just because he "believed" I would. He said that his "positive thoughts" would make it happen. To me that sounds more like a "spell". No, I didn't marry him!

  9. I have no idea and I doubt there is a cure.  You just have to take each day as it comes and hope for the best I guess.

  10. i no exactly wat u mean... some ppl r jus born to lose... they work hard.... do evrything right to get ahead... but evrything jus keeps going wrong for them no matter wat they do... bad luck jus follows them...

i think it must b a curse or somthing... but i wish i new how to cure it.... sorry i cudent help... :-(

  11. Funny. I always say if I did not have bad luck I wouldn't have any. Here an example;

I slid on ice through a red light and hit a car. ( I have never done that before or ever caused an accident.)

Exactly 1 week later someone backed into my van parked in front of my sisters house and took off. No one saw or heard it.

No one was injured either time, (at least as far as I know)

so that was for sure lucky.

I know there are many other worse things that could happen but that seems pretty unlucky.

  12. Sometimes things just happen randomly, you are walking down the street a brick falls off a building and happens to land on you.

Some 'luck' is caused by your actions, it's not 'unlucky' if you have a car accident if you are driving carelessly.

Some 'luck' is just a matter of how you perceive it, you accidentally get pregnant is this unlucky? Or lucky to give birth to a health baby.

  13. i don't know but some people can have a really bad life with no happy ending

or maybe they were borned like that

or they bracked a mirror or some black cats passed their way

some people don't believe in God and that way they don't have luck

    i don't know any cure

  14. The other answers have a lot of truth- the vast majority of what we consider good and bad events are subjective.

That said, if the same person experiences undoubtedly negative things like they lose their job, get hurt, then lose their house, so on, its easy to think someone may be unlucky.

However, events are a matter of statistics. No being can buck the laws of statistical random chance. Some people may have one or two bad events happen all at once (which means their statistical odds have hit faster than normal), and a lot of the rest may be fallout from that. Conversely, those same people have probably also experienced their statistical share of good luck events too, but they haven't noticed it  (ex. escaping a car accident because you took a different turn is a statistically positive event, but since it wasn't actually bad, its unnoticed)

  15. I have to agree wit ~333~.

In my own words, If you feel you are unlucky, then you will be.  The Power of thought, is a very strong tool.  Low Self-esteem of ones self has a lot to do with it as well.

The only cure is for one to turn themselves around to thinking more positively about themselves.

  16. I have to agree that it's all your attitude, in how you choose to view the world. And I say this because I tend to be the pessimist, the one whose always got bad luck. But my spirit guides are teaching me to look up instead of down, see the positive and don't let the negative stuff get to me so much. Ride it out. And it works.

  17. I find its all in our thoughts.. Its the way we think, our thoughts become reality..If you really want something bad enough, and it sits with you in your thoughts, its sure to happen...

Everything i wanted in life, if i wanted it bad enough (in my mind) I made it happen, or opportunities came along...

When ive been down and had negative thoughts, only bad things happened, or nothing positive....

Youd be surprised at what your thoughts can manifest...

  18. When you start believing that all you have is bad luck, your selective memory takes over and all you notice is when your luck is bad, enforcing the belief you've already formed.
