Why some person called Maria, if she is Muslim?

Muslims give a lot of honor to Mary, there is a chapter "Maryam" (Mary) in the Qu'ran about her, they think she was a very devout woman, chosen by God and they believe in the virgin birth of Jesus. (also, they think Jesus is very close to God and one of the greatest prophets, they just don't believe Jesus IS God.

Maria was one of the wifes' of the prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h).

Naming a child with a beautiful and honorable name is very important. The Prophet always chose names with good and beautiful meanings, even telling people to change their names if they had unpleasant meanings.

People also say that Its as same as the name Maryam and you must be aware as to how much we love and honor Maryam--mother of Jesus. :)

Mary = maria = Meriem in ARABIC ( the name of the mother of JESUS CHRIST Peace Be Upon Him ) musmilms believe in jesus christ and him mother that's why they use the name of his mother, and there is some Arab guys called ISSA = JESUS.
