There are different types of fraternities and sororities. Some are service organizations, scholastic organizations, and some are social organizations.

I joined a service organization that helps out the community, promotes college attendance in the community, provides scholarships to college students and promotes scholarship within the organization.

While they are not for everyone, they are good groups for like minded individuals to associate.
