i just bought this mercury sable 3.0 front wheel drive year 1993 and i was ready to do the first tune up to it and i noticed that this car doesn't have any grease fittings....my question is if a car does not have any is because this particular car does not need it or the company that made it was just too careless to made the car with them?

  1. Most of the passenger cars do not need additional grease.  They are design to replace a new one when they gone bad.

  2. These fitting are a service free type. if and when they wear out the new ones will most likely have grease fittings. This includes ball joints U joints tie rod ends and anything else that you can think of. have fun

  3. they were made with sealed joints and don't, in theory, need the extra grease.

  4. yea - they are presumed to be permanently sealed and usually it works but sometimes the rubber boot has a crack in it and the grease comes out and water gets in
