Why sort of people abuse handicap parking?

You see it everyday. What are people thinking when they illegally park in handicap parking spots.

Good question because just the other at work I asked one of my customers why they had parked in the handicap space and they said that they felt there are too many parking spaces reserved for the handicapped.

1. They are lazy.

2. Stupidity comes to mind.

3. Selfish.

It angers me when I see non-disabled people park in handicapped spaces and “I feel it is unethical to park in a handicapped parking space".......................

ONE WORD: JERKS.

A jerk is someone who does whatever THEY want without regard to the rights of others. They don't know the meaning of the word "considerate" To THEM people who   are "considerate" are weak and wimpy.

Like most of the others said, laziness is the main issue. Selfishness is a close second. Maybe deep down, they resent someone being able to have that prime spot.

Here's a thought for people who do that. Next time you're thinking of grabbing that handicapped space that you shouldn't be in, think about how fortunate you are that you don't need it. Walk the few extra feet and be glad you're able to do so. That's what I do every time.

The person who has difficulty walking and needs that spot would much rather be in your situation.

Yeah, I hate people that think they can park in a handicap parking space when they are not handicap. Unfortunately, we have a lot of lazy bone people in this world. The same people that sit and hold everyone up because they are waiting on a close parking space and the person they are waiting on is still putting their groceries in their car. Anyone that is stupid enough to do stuff like this has to have a lazy streak down their back.

Its people that are too friggin lazy to take the extra three steps to walk to the store. Its the people that will sit through a drive through for 10 minutes instead of walking in to order and being out in 5. Its the people that will abuse the social security system to take advantage of any freebies they can. Shall I go on? AMERICA IS THE FATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!! Any Dr. will give  a patient a handicap placard. It just gets abused by lazy unethical people.

The stupid inconsiderate people that park in handicap spaces when they are not handicapped think that the laws don't apply to them,  they are better than anyone else,  that their time and convenience is the most important consideration,  and that they won't get caught and pay  a fine.

I have a daughter that is wheelchair bound,  who will park behind unauthorized cars (those without proper plate or tag) blocking them in until she gets done,  or until the police arrive and ticket the offender.   The local police are on her speed dial,  she usually gets them to write about 3 citations a week.    Me,  I park out in BFE,  my vehicle less likely to get hit,  less crowded,  and I need the excercise.
