why is the speed and torque of a dc motor inversely proportional ?

  2. Think about it this way: if when you are traveling slow in your car and you hit the gas, you can feel a lot of power transferred to the wheels (torque).  When you are traveling fast and you hit the gas, there is not as much power.  Its the same with a DC motor.
