  1. If your teeth are getting overly sensitive like if you're using the white strips or something, you should definitely stop for a few days or something.  My teeth used to get really sensitive with that stuff too so I cant use the strips anymore.  I'm using Celebrity Smile now from http://mycelebsmile.com/y/ and it doesn't hurt my teeth at all.

  2. You should stop whitening your teeth and talk to your dentist. Those commercially available teeth whiteners use chemicals that wear away at your enamel to reveal a whiter layer beneath. You may have exposed some of the dentin, the porous under layer that is sensitive to heat and cold.

  3. from now on, just buy the whitening products from your dentist - or ask for suggestions on which are the best products to buy. i got a custom tray with upper/lower molds ($200) & bleaching gels ($35) from my dentist's office. the trays fit over all of your teeth and can be saved for bleaching in the future. what is important is that the gels contain calcium phosphate which supposedly helps with sensitivity & restore any tooth enamal lost due to bleaching.

usually the sensitivity goes away after a few days - you probably never read all of the instructions on the package!
