Why the 'man of the match' award given to Suresh Raina instead of Sehwag?

Sehwag made 119(95), S/R : 125.26

Raina made 84(69) S/R : 121.74

Then why????????

It was all about those brilliant catches he took. And some brilliant fielding too.

I mean Raina. At first I too wondered , then remembered the catches.

There were too many dropped catches that day. So it was an added point to be noted.

Raina's overall contribution to the game and the win were assessed as a shade above in value, to the closest nominee, shewag! can't complain, really: the way Raina went about getting his runs, and the fielding went in favour of the young player!

yeah,that was a surprising thing,.Raina himself was surprised.May be bcz of his good fielding but that wasn't a big element.But anyway,both played well.Sehwag deserved it but Raina wasn't a bad choice.

Raina is a young talent. He also fielded well during the course of the match and also played well. He came out with pressure since Gambhir had not clicked. He got his eye in and began playing some lovely shots.. But i personally think that man of the match must have gone to Viru...

because it's a common thing for sehwag to make the oppostion bowling look like club level.. but its raina who made a graet comeback into the national team by first scoring a ton against hong kong and then making quickfire 84 against pak.. and add to it his brilliant fielding..

so he deserved this award.
