I went to Venice last week, and as soon as we got out of the train station, and before crossing to the other side, I saw this odd thing! A statue of Maddona holding Christ sitting on an American flag!!! Anyone knows why!? Please let me know :)

Thanks

  1. I saw that too.  I think it is dedicated to victims of war. My daughter was trying to translate the plaque.

  2. Hi Sam,,,

During WW II,,, the Italians did not fight us as the Germans did,, we slugged it out to throw them out of Italy....

There is a very nice American Cemetary in Natuno South of Rome, where one of my uncles out of 3 that fought there, is buried...

The Italian people are still grateful for what was done there, and I am proud to visit their country every chance that i get... They are wonderful and graceous to me...

    Good luck
