Why the Belkin Router's interface page http://192.168.2.1 does not open.?

I am trying to update my router's firmware. Does anybody have the same problem?

  1. What message do you get?  

    Are you able to get to any internet page at all?

    It could be that you need to use a different page (address).

    It could be that the cable is bad between the computer and router or between the modem and router.

    HTH!


  2. Are you sure the IP is 192.168.2.1? Most use 192.168.1.1.

  3. First be VERY careful updating firmware. I have never found this to be required, except to connect to a non-standard ISP system where the original does not have a required protocol. Go to start/run and type cmd and enter. then type ipconfig and enter. This should should show your Ip address, netmask and at the bottom default gateway (router) address. This is the address you need to type, it may not be what you are using.
