worked on the sabbath to death, but then he "changed " his mind and thought it was not cool anymore to put unruly children to death homosexuals to death, and people that worked on the sabbath to death?.

Why was it acceptable back then?

If we were in the old testament time , would the people that believe that the bible is the word of a divine mind aka God, put the disobedientnt kids, homosexuals and people that worked on the sabbath to death? Would they do that?

I don't care about the Christian excuse but Jesus changed all that, so spare me that excuse. IT WAS IN THE OT , WHICH ACCORDING TO YOU IT IS THE WORD OF GOD, WHY WAS IT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE? IT IS BARBARISM.

If we were in the old testament times , would you then stone children to death as well as homosexuals as well as people that worked on saturday?

  1. YOU F'N DOUCHE BAG CHRISTIANS ARENT THE ONLY ONES WHO BELIEVE IN THE OT DO SOME RESEARCH YOU IGNORANT DOUCHE THE SABBATH IS ON SUNDAY U r****d MAN I CANT WAIT FOR THE RAPTURE YOU AND ALL YOU'RE DOUCHE BAG NON BELIEVERS R GONNA PAY F HOMOS THEY DESERVE TO BE STONED AND WHEN JESUS CAME THAT DID CHANGE EVERYTHING JESUS IS GOD IN MAN FORM YOU DOUCHE READ THE BIBLE RESEARCH SOMETHING BEFORE YOU TALK ABOUT YOU IGNORANT DOUCHE god bless and when you're burning don't say sorry it'll be to late

  2. The penalty set out how important it was to keep this part of the law for Jews. Christians have never stoned anyone. Jesus quite simply forbids it in John Chapter 8.

Read John Chapter 8, and get back to us Christians.

  3. If the legal system changes a law over time to make a specific act not illegal (although, still not preferable), would it be fair to punish those who later commit the same offense, but under the new ruling, the same way as those under the old laws?

    Of course not!

This is slightly different to what God did through Jesus.

I know you don't want the Jesus line, but if He is the Saviour of Christians, the one who forgives sins, then why is it not possible that (if Christianity is true) He also changed how God views people & their sins?

I will be very bold in saying this.

In the view of God (without Jesus), people still deserve that same treatment and punishment for those sins. We would still be living in the OT times.

But Jesus was cruxified for the sins of people, and took on the punishment for those sins of the people.

Thus, when God looks at a person now, in the "New Testament" (new covenant) he does not see the sin- Jesus took it.

As for if it was barbarism...

It was the culture of the time. It was the prescribed punishment.

The Christian God is a just God. Wrongs must be paid for. Sins were despicable, and the offender punished (in this case, by death).

I have tried to explain why things have changed, and try (from my understanding) to explain the OT contexts.

I hope this is helpful for you.

The question i cannot answer is about the Jews. I am not a Jew (I am a Christian) and i do not know under what reason they do not still hold to the same Old Testament rules.

If this is not sufficient, feel free to contact me or post again. :)

Keep in mind, i have not done any "study" of the bible, or course. Only what i know from reading my bible and discussions.

  4. Carefull, if you push too hard the theist logic machine will actually fold reality to find a way. A will equal NOT-A and all us logic types will be screwed.

  5. Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (New International Version)

    A Rebellious Son

18 If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." 21 Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

  6. You're obviously confused. Calm down, Swee'Pea and get your bearings.

  7. You've never realized the seriousness of sin, have you my friend?

  8. I'm in the present brah! and there is still strange things that happen that point to a God

  9. You've beeen listening to Obama's speech too much. You need to actually read what it is you're trying to discuss, get the Hebrew version before it was translated and learn what a lesson is. God and Jesus both taught in parables. Death was also known as being cast out into the darkness, not the literal death you're referring to.

  10. There was no salvation prior to Christ's resurrection.  Once Christ sacrificed His life to atone for the sins of the world, forgiveness was made available to all sinners.

  11. As you can see from the answers provided, if we were in the old testament time they would be stoning their kids to death, they would be stoning adulterers do death, homosexuals and people that worked on the sabbath.

It is amazing how brainwashed these people are to rationalize that sickness.

We should be afraid that these people walk among us.
