Why the h**l didn't sourav, sachin and ganguly didn't play for asia cup????

Well Dhoni was banking on the youth part of the Indian Cricket.... He thought that evolving the next world class team for India...Asia Cup was the perfect platform... Agreed Sachin was out for injury reasons...but then having experienced players like Sourav and Dravid could have led to a certain stability to the team .... Dhoni's reasons for not including Ganguly and Dravid in the team was fielding ...ironically fielding was one department where the team was performing below par ..... Well experience was needed when we see Raina and Sehwag playing atrocious shots when there was no need to ......

yes, perhaps the finals was a big occasion for the young brigade without these players and they were missed out especially with Mendis dodging these attacking T20 batsman , who don't know how to defend and were clueless with crook's mystery carom balls~

Sachin didn't play because he was suffering from an injury and was still unfit. There is no doubt that he will be back in the team as soon as he attains fitness.

It has been a mystery why Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid were not allowed to play in the Asia Cup. But the obvious reason is that skipper MS Dhoni ruled them out on the ground of their age. Ganguly was called a pathetic fielder and a poor runner between the wickets. So, the selectors didn't understand the value of experience, and foolishly ruled out these 2 players, who has over 10,000 ODI runs upon the word of a novice like Dhoni, who has neither technique nor skill. You are probably right in saying that Indians could have given Sri Lanka a better fight had the experience of Sachin, Sourav and Dravid been there. With their experience and batting skill they could have tackled Ajantha Mendis much better. The inexperienced batsmen with poor technique like Rohit Sharma, Yousuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, and even Yuvraj and Gambhir failed miserably in this regard. Talent is something which is eternal-it does not fade away with age. That's why I believe that there isn't anyone in the current team who can come up to the level of perfection of the trio of Sachin, Sourav and Dravid. It will be a long time before India sees players matching up to their talent and calibre.

atleast one of the senior players must have been picked in the squad.that was the big problem.now they have lost the precious asia cup.the selectors must seriously take a big desicion before the upcoming series in srilanka and pakistan.even i thought that a young team will be very fresh to beat the mighty srilankans but once again it has been proved that "old is gold".
