It was an accident. It made it self. Things came from the sky and brought water and minerals to the surface which made chemical in the oceans which brought life.

Asking questions such as these only brings us to make up the answers in order to make ourselves feel better or wiser in claiming to know the answer.  We will likely never know whether it was created or if, like all things I have perceived in life, that it was in fact a part of a massive chemical reaction, as we are.  Do we worry whether chemicals have purpose, past-lives, or after-lives?  No.  And we are (as a living organism) a collection of chemical reactions which are configured in a specific organization which allows us to be what we are.  It did not need a conscious effort or willful manipulation to become this way.  After all, I myself have been considered a birthing accident by my parents, and even if they had little to say about it, I came into existence when my father's sperm met with my mother's ovum -- the reaction was without will, but two chemical components doing as they must by the laws of nature.  All you need to know is what combination of chemistry and/or energy cause specific patterns to emerge via natural causes, regardless as to whether you believe such causes are controlled by something greater than us.  And yes, with proper scientific knowledge, they can be duplicated via conscious will.

Only through direct interaction with the universe can knowledge of it unravel.  Speculation is simply that.  The mind can conceive anything, but all that it conceives is not factually possible until one brings it into the universe via tangible means.

Many people hate for there to be a "Why" do you want to learn and understand or are just asking?

Will the knowledge make you look at how you live?

Basically, so that God's creations would have a place to walk and live.

I think Acts 17 sums it up well in Paul's discourse in Athens.

24  "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.

25  And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

26   From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.

27  God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Verses 26 and 27 will offer you a better answer than you will find.  

Like the ancient Athenians the God that created all and sent his son Jesus as a payment for our sins is the "Unknown god" today.  Whether people reject him out of pride, ignorance or just plain old the motivations he is still the Creator.

All things that exist arose from the cause and effect nature of reality as part of the interdependence of all that exist.

All things arose in this manner and they were not created by some supposed and mythical supreme being.

To suppose the all was "created" implies that there is a "divine purpose" or a meaning to life within a grander scheme of things when the reality is simply that the purpose of life is to live, to live is to be and being is mindful awareness demonstrated in acts of generosity, loving kindness, caring and compassion towards all.

Please, there is no need to make thing seem more complicated.  Perhaps it is better to simply live by simply being.

Physics states that material is indestructable, that it only changes forms, sometimes from energy to empirical matter or vice versa.

Since matter must always have existed, it can only be the laws of nature which met at point "xyz" and NATURALLY created whatever exists. At some point, call it "abc," the opposite will happen and the earth will disintegrate back into its component parts.

There is no grand scheme in nature. Nature doesn't even know it exists.
