Why the bank ask for an introducer on opening a new account while taking all documents?

a bank (nationalized), when i was openning my first account, rejected my application form saying, he wants an introducer having account in the bank. How i can open an account in a new city where i have no family member and unknown to all.

It is because you can forge the documents, but an introducer acts like a guarantor, because s/he will not introduce an unknown person to the bank, as he himself will get into trouble if anything goes wrong.  If you want to open an account in a new city where you do not have any contacts, the best thing is that you can get your signature on account opening form from your hometown (But the bank should be same in both places, say a SBI Branch in both cities).  Otherwise you could just get transferred your existing bank account to the place you have moved.  Remember, you can submit the transfer request in the new city as well (where you want to get transferred the account). Another option is to get your employer signed as an introducer (if you are employed).

  4. how come u can't deal with such simple task,its just an account..its just a formality( rule stipuated by RBI),,how come u can't even get one from  the lacs holders..

    yaar dhoodne se bhagwaan bhi mil  jaata heh,yeh to sirf account holder ki baata heh...
