  1. Ceiling fans are designed to go in either direction.  Pulling air up is useful in the winter months and pushing it down in the warmer months.

  3. It doesn't matter how it turns unless you look at the flan blade. Notice how it is curved a certain way. WHen it spins the right way according to the direction the flan blade points the air will be blown forward. One side is up a little and the other side is down. The fan should spin so the side facing up goes first if your talking about a ceiling fan. Because the air smacks of the part tilted torward it and bounce downward. It's hard to explain without a picture.
