Why the constitution should be honored and respected?

I have to do an essay and I don't even where to start?

I would like to help you. But, are you telling us your school gave you this problem without any prior info and/or references to look up or ANYTHING?

It should be because it is the basic law of the land, all other Laws and Acts of Congress, and Orders of the President of the United States have to have some basis within the Constitution.

Once in awhile we get a president that thinks the Constitution is just a piece of paper, though.

It lays out our individual rights and keeps mob rule in check.  Even with a democratic system we still can't simply do as we please if the Constitution forbids it.

because its what the country was meant for and if people dont like what it says they should move instead of trying to change it
