I bought a Pontiac Wave in Canada and the sticker showed 49 mpg which I have seen on the hwy. I just saw a Chev Aveo ad on Yahoo that claimed 34 mpg I think...can't find it now, but basically why the huge difference? Same car, 15mpg difference?

  1. MPG ratings in U.S. are determined from tests that the U.S. EPA conduct. Canada does not use the U.S. EPA results to determine their MPG ratings.

  2. There are less stop lights in Canadia so you use gas there.

Maybe you were looking at the Highway mileage on one and City on the other.
