Why the fasanation with the movie, The Matrix.?

Question

This is not a serious question but for the people who have the time it is an easy 10 points for the best answer. I consider myself a semi serious movie buff. I am smart enough to know a classic outstanding movie from the ones that are entertaining or just plain bad. However, I love the movie, The Matrix and really enjoy its 2 follow up mediocre movies that came out a few years later. I have watched this movie more than I have watched any other movie in my life time and I do not know why. I know it is not a great movie or a masterpiece. What is funny is many of the movies I know that are masterpieces like: Shendlers List, or Saving Privet Ryan, I do not even own. I just do not get why I like this Matrix movie so much. I can tell you this much, I live and breathe computers at home and work and that might have something to do with it. I guess what has me totally baffled is I know it is just an OK movie, but I keep on watching it and not tire of it. Any ideas? Thanks.

I think it's way deeper than the fact that you love computers.  The Matrix (the 1st one) was meant to parallel the Biblical sruggle we all face as human beings.  I think that movie hits a cord with all of us, because deep down we all know that there is something more going on than what we can see directly in front of us.  Even Neo dying and resurrecting to become a "savior" is  paralleled with Jesus Christ.  The second two movies were written by other people who didn't have that theme in mind when they wrote them, but the first one definitely has those parallels.  There's something inside you that desires the truth, and I don't believe you will be satisfied until you find it.  I'm not talking about religion, but the truth.

First of all, MAtrix movie is a fantastic FICTION.  Technological impossibility at the moment. It's WISHFUL THINKING - TO ACQUIRE the experience, training and the resulting strength and agility of a ninja or a kung fu master by just sitting down and downloading WHATEVER in a few moments (the equivalent of lifetime training for the ninja or the kung fu master).

I think you are seeking the Truth, that is why you are fascinated with this particular movie. I believe it has many layers to it and you must be catching the little subliminal messages in it. It is a very deep movie, not just a surface stuff like Spiderman or something equally silly.
