Why the film stars launching new political parties ?

There was a meaning in respect of M.G.R. and N.T.R. when they launched political parties. But, now vijayakanth, karthik, sarathkumar, now chiranjeevi are coming to politics by launching political parties. But, the film stars in northern india not launching political parties. of course they support some political parties are true but never launched a new party. why this is happening in south india? People expected Rajnikanth will lauch a new party. But, he slipped each time now he is suffering by his own words and his super star position fell down.
