When he knew that that's Cung Le's specialty by being trained in Sanshou.

  1. PISSED ME OFF LIKE NO OTHER. im a huge shamrock fan and thought hed totally dominate and capitalize against cung. ill tell u why he did. frank said he would and being tru to his word he intended to. frank is the kinda guy who will not only try to win, as if thats no good enough, but win by beating u at ur own game. this tricks doesnt work all the time and didnt work for him against cung =[ sometime i think frank is stubborn and i hate when he makes dumb choices like that. hes an excellent submission guru with skills....so use them!! XD HOPE this was somewhat usefulfor ya

  2. Because he didnt want to beat Lee. If he beats Lee then the organization that pays Shamrock would have nothing.

  3. It's pride....It was to show Cung Le that he wasn't afraid of going toe to toe with him...

  4. Pride.

  5. his arm broke  , if there

was going to be a nother round , cung was done for

shamrock has way more experience than cung

  6. Because Cung Le has world class takedown defense and fantastic wrestling. Even on his best day Frank Shamrock would have an incredibly difficult time taking Le down and keeping him there.

  7. i don't know...

  8. If Frank can keep from head butting him yes>

  9. it's hard getting old.  shamrock is a true legend and the hardest thing for them (legends) to do is realize their age.

  10. He tore his ACL and NCL in training a few weeks earlier and so he could not get low and shot for take-downs since his knee would not support him.  Also his wrestling ability would be greatly hampered and diminished because of this.  He probably should not have been fighting at all but he is not without considerable stand-up skills and abilities.    Rather than postpone it and throw off any timetable that might impact other fights he might have been considering or other business deals and opportunities he stayed with it and decided go out there and fight.  I think that the fact that he got a serious injury that may hamper or end his fighting career and caused the fight to be stopped is the really bad thing about all this.  Cung Le took some pretty hard shots from him and was in some danger of being beaten a couple of times I think.   If Shamrock would have won it would now be seen as the right decision and everyone would be saying something else.  Shamrock did allude to it the other night during his color commentary during some other fights as not being the brightest decision but sometimes fighters are faced with these kinds of situations and decisions and they don't always work out for the best or the way you want them to but you can't predict that before hand.

  11. i think it was a stubborn move.  i think frank knew in his head he could beat Cung Le on the ground without too too much effort, and wanted to see what he could do on his feet.  i think it was more of a i am going to test myself moment for Frank then a I want to win this fight moment.  Frank has nothing else to prove in MMA
