Why the height and weight matter for china visa?

well my relative will visit china soon so they ask about his height,weight and the year of birth so why any one know?

Height: may be coz they have short doors :D

These requirements were put in when photos were of bad quality and were not a legal requirement. They helped with stopping identity fraud in entering China but were not perfect since many people have the same physical descriptions. These laws were probably not removed when photos became a legal requirement and, hence, are still on the form. Date of Birth is needed to check your identity against your passport and name.

Height, weight, eye color, hair color, etc. are all part of your physical description.  They show up on your driver's license and most other ID documents.  Nowadays they aren't needed since we have photos, but they keep them anyway.
