  7. If they can garner support in the form of campaign contributions and get a few local politicians elected first, maybe people will support them more. People vote with their wallet, you have to put up or shut up, so to speak. If they can convince a mojority of the folks their way is the right way, and gain the dollars to spreadtheir message, you'll have another choice. I have not been swayed by most the candidates they have brought forward, so I don't contribute.

  8. Independence Party?

  9. The problem is that they are not like the Democrats and Republicans.

The Democrat and Republican Party are the only two parties that are on the ballot in all 50 states.  In most states, they run candidates for at-least 3/4 of the races on the ballot.

So-called third parties are not on the ballot in every state.  Even when they are on the ballot, they typically compete in a tiny percentage fo the races.  (Mostly, the state-wide races, half of the Congressional races, 10% of the legislative races, and practically none of the local races).

Among the third-parties, the three that are on the ballot in the most states are the Libertarian, Constitution, and Green Parties.  The Independence Party currently has 33 candidates on the ballot in 4 states.

When a third party has enough candidates nationwide to actually have a real chance to be a significant bloc in Congress or State Legislatures and can consistently get more than 5% of the vote, then it will get some national attention.  Until then, don't ask me to care about a party that doesn't have any candidates running in my state.

  10. I wish an Independent party had a candidate worth noticing.
